I'm so happy to FINALLY have another outfit post to show you. I've been lacking fashion inspiration lately, but as soon as the sun poked its head out for our brief sunny spell in North London, I was up and rearing to go.

Today's outfit, is a special outfit. Special because it features one of my favourite ever ever ever garments, simply because it's so unusual and also important to me. The t-shirt is from the collaboration between skater clothing brand Supreme and filmmaker Larry Clark, who has created some of the most controversial (but some of my favourite) movies around. The collection was actually released quite a few months ago, I'm late to the game in posting about it soz. However, I was thrilled when I first found out that I would actually be able to buy a piece of clothing which had creative input from such a talented man, and featured stills from one of my all-time favourite films of his - 'Kids'. I'm not gonna lie, it's definitely a 'love it or hate it' type of film, but it's gained a huge cult following and is such a beautiful, thought-provoking creation. I set my 6am alarms for the launch of the collection online, and I swear to god I would never spend £40 on a t-shirt from anywhere else but THIS WAS SO TOTALLY WORTH IT. My one regret is choosing one with a slightly more risque image - a pair of girls legs with a mans hand between them - as much as I love the cinematography of the shot, it does mean that I can't really wear the t-shirt out and about in the middle of the day. People are easily offended, in my opinion...

ANYWAY, that's probably enough about the t-shirt (except you should all totally go and watch 'Kids' and also 'Ken Park'). I don't normally wear graphic t-shirts or boy-cut clothing (yes, this is a mens t-shirt), so of course had to pair it with an extremely girly skirt to restore the natural balance of my style. Ha. I love a good maxi skirt and for some reason only during the Spring/Summer, maybe because of how relaxed and chilled they make me feel. Which is a really weird way to describe a type of clothing, I know. 

To set off the accidental sort of hippy-boho vibe I had created, I paired the look with some much needed sunnies (from Primark, I believe), a ring-bracelet piece (also Primark, ofc), and my recent personalised bangle gift from the wonderful Whistle + Bango. As you might know I normally love to experiment with bright colours so the muted tones of this look was quite different for me - but I definitely felt like it made an equally bold statement. Oh and the cardigan...well....it was just cold. It's only now that I'm realising quite a large percentage of this look is from Primark...and I love it.

Also want to say a huge MASSIVE SOPPY THANKS to my poor boyfriend/photographer Charlie, who I drag out in arctic conditions every week to just basically take loads of photos of me. He is a real trooper <3

Technicolour

Sorry for the lack of posts recently - it's been a bit of a tricky time for me figuring out my liiiife etc. (woe is me, woe is me, break out the tiny violins) so I've been keeping distracted the best ways I know how. And it turns out that last week, the best way I knew how was by painting my face like a rainbow unicorn. I was feeling experimental, and honestly don't have much to say about this except that I actually really enjoyed doing it (that's why I got so carried away) so I'm going to try some similar looks soon, and hopefully some of them will be a little more wearable!

For this look I used a range of different palettes, but found the most effective to be my Morphe 350 and 35W palettes - the pigment on these just can't be beaten, you can see the orange on my outer eye has come out the strongest of all the colours, as well as the bronze near my hairline - both shades from the 250. For the brighter colours I used Make Up Revolution's 200 shade palette (such a dream) and although I loved the bright shades, the pigment of the matte shades didn't really come out as strong as I'd have liked it too.

For my lips I used two of my FAVOURITE new liquid lipsticks - Gerard Cosmetics in Rising Mercury (a beautiful orange-red) and Lime Crime in RAVE (electric lilac) - these two are the best I've tried so far, they have incredible staying power as well as being gorgeous in colour, and moisturising too. The third shade I wanted to be equally as bright, so I used an old Maybelline lipstick (I don't know the shade sorry!) and painted on the colour using a small lip brush, blending with my little finger.

Patchwork + Ombre

Hello everyone!

As promised my new photo series will be coming soon, but in the meantime here is an outfit post AND a brand new make up feature! I decided to snap some photos of my new face-painting experiments - something I don't usually do when it comes to cosmetics, but I'm starting to become a little more creative with that as well, playing with different ways of doing dramatic lips and even getting bold with a highlighter - I know, what a daredevil.

I'm going to keep this fairly short and sweet because I'm at work (shhhh). This outfit is all about the print (although when is it not, with me??) - I've been crazy over patchwork recently, and the only way to make this beautiful silky dress from Zara pop more was with an even bolder patchwork bag. A little much for some, but not for me...  I paired this combo with a beautiful pair of Teva boots from the ever-lovely Chase PR. Let me tell you, these boots are something else. I have never felt SUCH COMFORT in a pair of heeled shoes - it was like walking on a cloud, oh baby. The toned down brown definitely helped set off the bright colours of the dress, and they've been super practical too in this unpredictable English weather. These babies will be sticking with me for a good long while!

VAMPIRE LIPS! Well, hopefully they don't look QUITE that dramatic... For this I used a Ted Baker lip crayon for the outer corners and outline (I don't remember the shade but it's a dark purple, sorry to be super unhelpful) and for the middle, a bright pink shade in a Maybelline lipstick with light Nyx Matte Lip Cream in Prague dabbed on top and blended in with my index finger. It's my first proper try, hopefully my technique will improve with practice!
